Walk in the bush, absorb nature, have close encounters with wildlife and enjoy the culture of the Watha whilst becoming fit!
Luxury Safari and Fitness in the Massai Mara. Stay in a luxury tented camp in the Massai Mara enjoying it's splendour, world famous wildlife spectacle and outstanding cuisine. Absorb the environment as evolutionary fitness coaches take you through human, species specific natural movement patterns, such as lifting, throwing, jumping and running, in the land of mankind's origin. Observe the animals and plants that live in the ecosystem through game drives and walks. Choose to bolster your experience by game viewing from horseback, enabling the rider to experience the bush on four legs. This creates less psychological impact on the wild animals allowing the rider to wander closer if seen than when recognised as human. Another extra we cater for is an optional hot air ballon ride whereby you our guest can silently drift above the savanna taking in a birds eye view of the wonders unfolding beneath.
Relax at the Coast. Following your first Safari up country, we will travel to the coastal area of Malindi for a couple of days of relaxation at the beach. You will also soak up the Swahili culture of the coast if you wish to visit the curios, local restaurants and sites of historic interest. The Malindi area is famous for worldclass saltwater sport fishing and your own custom charter fishing cruise awaits you!
Exclusive Safari with the Legendary Watha. Following your beach holiday, you will continue on to the Tsavo East ecosystem where you will meet members of the legendary Watha tribe. The Watha are a hunter-gatherer culture who, until recently, specialised in hunting elephant with a bow. Given this history, the Watha are famous for their skills in tracking and approaching wild animals on foot. They have extensive and inherent cultural knowledge of all game behaviour in the area, which is currently home to four of the big five game animals (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant). Walk with the Watha trackers through the Galana Wildlife Conservancy (65'000ac of unfenced wilderness) and marvel as they interpret all aspects of the natural world around you. Stay in private luxurious lodges or camp with the Watha tribe at their own ancestral Village, Odha Camp, named after the Sycamore Fig trees that grow there ("Odha" in the Watha language). Either way, discover the unique abilities and culture of the Watha by walking with them, meeting tribe members and learning survival skills and techniques including; the relevance and uses of various plants, dances and their meanings, building of huts, tracking, superstition, animal behaviour, bushcraft and lore.
