BushcraftDevelop and refine the very skills that shaped the human race under the tutelage of tribal elders. Walk in the 65'000ac Galana Wildlife Conservancy. An unfenced wilderness area bordering Tsavo East National Park. Wander from point to point learning about the land and how to interact with it, learn to track and identify it's wildlife. The Watha are a hunter-gatherer culture who until recently specialised in hunting elephant with a bow. They have extensive and inherent cultural knowledge of all game behaviour in the area (Galana, Kenya), which is currently home to four of the big five game animals (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant). They are famous for their skills in tracking and approaching wild animals on foot. What's involved? Guests will camp in huts, hammocks set up or made by your own hand or even Watha style on the ground upon a hand woven mat or grass thatched bed next to the fire out in the open. Each day you will will learn skills from a syllabus based on traditional Watha bushcraft that will include:
